Step 1. Locate the Pile Location
Project's supervisor needs to identify
where the pile should be located. From that
reference point, 3 more secondary reference
points will be identified for casing-offsetting purpose.

Processing

Step 2. Install Casing into the Ground
The casing will be rotated and pushed into the
ground while maintaining its center by referring
back to the secondary references points from step 1.
The casing alignment will also be verified to stand
upright throughout the process.

Processing

Step 3. Drilling Process
Start thr drilling process using auger
or bucket depending on the soil condition.
Bentonite suspension, at the concentration
of which is according to owner's seocification,
will be added to the hole when underground water
is observed. Bentonite suspension helps preventing
the hole wall from collapsing.

Processing

Step 4. Pre-Concreting Quality Control
After the pile depth has been reached,
a bucket will be used to remove any
residue at piles tip. This will further
ensure the integrity and quality of finished piles.

Processing

Step 5. Install Reinforcing Bars
After verifying the hole depth
with project's supervisor, the
reinforcing vars will be installed
according to the owner's specification.

Processing

Step 6. Concreting Process
The pile is concreted using tremmie pipes.
These tremmie pipes shoot concrete down to
the bottom of the hole pushing any Bentonite
suspension back up to the ground surface.
Concreting the vored hole from the bottom up
effectively prevents the concrete segregation.

Processing

Step 7. Finish up
Remove Tremmie pipes and casing and proceed
onto the next pile.

Pile's Integrity
Check List

  • Verify the pile position
  • Verify the verticality of casing and auger during the casing insertion and drilling processes
  • Verify the pile depth regularly through out the drilling process to monitor any pile wall collapsing

Pile's Integrity
Check List

  • Verify that the Bentonite suspension properties fall within the acceptable range (applied to both fresh and recycled solution)
  • Verify the specification and arrangement of steel bars
  • Verify that the mixed concrete properties fall in the acceptable range

Pile's Integrity
Check List

  • Verify that the Tremmie pipe tip, during the concreting process, is at least 2 meters below the concrete surface at all time.
  • Compare the calculated volume and actual volume of mixed concrete used to concrete the piles
  • Log the time as each step is completed, colume of concrete used, Bentomite susoension properties used, and etc.
